一枚の金属の板を金鎚ででたたいて形を作る「鍛金」という技法を用い、自分は何が作りたいのか、何ができるのか、考えながら金属に向き合い制作している。

 

京都生まれ。大学卒業後、父親である植田参稔の元で金工を始める。

Using a forging technique called tankin to hammer a single sheet of metal into a shape, Ueda Chikako dedicates herself to working with metal and explores what she wants to create and what she can do with it.

 

Born in Kyoto. After graduating from university, she began metalworking under her father Ueda Sannen.
